Boeing Commercial Airlines (BCA) is hiring for Manufacturing Engineers – Customer Introduction (Mid Level) to join the Manufacturing Engineering Customer Introduction team in North Charleston, SC. In this position, you will reduce the impact of new airplane layouts and/or new commodities entering the factory.
Position Responsibilities:
Evaluate customer-selected options and configurations for technical and manufacturing feasibility on behalf of 787 Operations and Manufacturing Engineering (ME).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create impact assessments and mitigation plans that reduce factory disruptions.
Lead and support manufacturability assessment workshops for complex commodities, ensuring designs meet in-sequence installation requirements and reduce program impacts.
Develop and implement sequenced installation processes for new designs and out-of-sequence work to minimize production disruptions.
Deliver status report outs on parts, production paperwork, tooling, and engineering releases for the Code 1 airplane, driving issues to resolution.
Coordinate with Operations to communicate upcoming changes and ensure factory readiness.
Support and track engineering changes related to installation and certification in collaboration with Configuration, Integration, and Engineering stakeholders.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on ergonomics, assembly efficiency, and product quality.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
5+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Configuration Development & Management (Option to Engineering to IP, LOPAs)
Change Management (MCs, BDCs, RRs, 95000s, Removal/Rework IRMs)
Familiarity with Interiors, Systems (Wiring & Electrical, Software, Production Test, Paint)
Procurement Types (SFE, SPE, BFE) and their impact on Production/ME

Summary Pay Range for Mid Level (Level 3): $103,700 – 140,300
