Position Summary:
The QC Chief Inspector is responsible for the overall leadership and effectiveness of the Inspection and Quality Control function. This role ensures that all maintenance, alteration, and aircraft interior completion activities comply with FAA regulations, approved technical data, and Repair Station procedures. The QC Chief Inspector has authority for airworthiness determinations, Return to Service approvals, and regulatory coordination, with emphasis on interior completions and AS9100-aligned quality practices.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Ensure familiarity with inspection methods, techniques, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with inspection tolerances, limitations, and procedures established by approved data.
- Ensure all inspections are properly performed, documented, and executed prior to return to service.
- Verify conformity and traceability of parts, materials, and installations.
- Provide leadership and supervision of QC Inspectors.
- Authorize Return to Service approvals.
- Serve as primary point of contact for FAA audits and inspections.
- Support AS9100 Quality Management System implementation and audits.
