Job Description

The Aircraft Technician is responsible for performing maintenance tasks in accordance with approved procedures and written or verbal instructions. Duties include using blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and maintenance manuals, recording work performed, and assuming responsibility for the work indicated by the technicians signature. The role also involves performing touch-up painting and potentially engaging in experimental and developmental work as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Service, troubleshoot, repair, modify, preserve, maintain, and overhaul aircraft, aircraft systems, and components.
• Perform heavy phase maintenance on various military aircraft.
• Maintain current licensing and carry it during work hours.
• Perform experimental and developmental work as assigned.
• Use blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals for assigned duties.
• Perform touch-up painting as needed.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of commercial aircraft maintenance experience.
• Valid Airframe license; Powerplant license preferred but not required.
• Experience with Airbus 319, 320, 321 and Boeing 767, 777.
• Knowledge of heavy maintenance service forms and documents, including FARs, ADs, Service Bulletins, and Maintenance Manuals.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, instructions, blueprints, and drawings.
• Proficiency in using tools, gauges, and instruments necessary for aircraft maintenance duties.
• Ability to obtain an airport SIDA badge (requires passing a criminal background check).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Valid drivers license.
• Experience in a commercial, corporate, or military MRO setting.

Work Environment

The work environment consists of two hangars, typically accommodating 5 to 8 planes at any given time, with a workforce of approximately 600 employees. The operation runs 24/7, requiring flexibility in shifts, which may include 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 2:15 PM - 10:45 PM. Some shifts follow a 4x10 schedule, while others are 5x8.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
