POSITION SUMMARY
The Aircraft Maintenance Specialist III position is responsible for managing and overseeing the scheduled & unscheduled maintenance activities for assigned aircraft to ensure airworthiness and compliance with regulatory requirements and Embraer’s standards are met or exceeded. Acts as the primary point of contact between maintenance, flight operations, engineering & sales to ensure efficient aircraft readiness.
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
- Proactively coordinates all aircraft maintenance activities including,
- Entry into Service / Acceptance Inspection
- Applicable Airworthiness Directives and service bulletin compliance
- Aircraft, Engine & APU logbook inspections when required
- Aircraft Launch / Recoveries & Debriefs
- AOG coordination of parts and manpower ensuring a timely return to service
- Monitors aircraft status and ensures timely execution of schedule / unscheduled maintenance in accordance with maintenance programs and regulatory guidance
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance actions, discrepancies, invoices and work orders utilizing approved maintenance tracking system (CAMP).
- Conduct routine aircraft, engine and APU logbook inspections or when requested.
- Monitor MEL (Minimum Equipment List) for timely corrective action
- Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with the Global Service Centers
- Works closely with areas such as Sales, Operations, Engineering, QC, Materials and Finance to ensure both customer & company requirements are met or exceeded.
- Address any technical inquiries from the customer (Sales and Prospects) with the proper Embraer designated business unit service.
- Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with the customers’ personnel.
- Work with management to support special contractual requirements and / or customer request
- Perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education
- BS or BA undergraduate degree required in a related field of study
- A&P license required.
- A well-developed technical knowledge of specific types and models of aircraft turbine engines, preferred.
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in related aviation maintenance and sales/customer service experience, acquired in the aviation/aeronautical industry.
- Quality Assurance / Control experience, desired.
- Inspection Authorization (IA) or ability to obtain IA, desired.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of FAA regulations, aircraft maintenance procedures and aviation safety standards
- Strong organizational / communication & interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in highly dynamic and fluid environment
- Flexible with work hours, including weekends or after-hours support, as needed
- Demonstrate above average proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel as well as learn any corporate or industry software used by the position (Quantum from Component Control, FlightDocs, CAMPs, FlyEmbraer, etc.)
- Must be a “self-starter” with forward thinking, strong communication, leadership and teamwork skills
Working Conditions / Environment/ Special Requirements
- Be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
- Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
- Employees will be subject to the random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations
- Some travel will be required to support the Global Demonstration operation
- Weekend availability to support Flight Operations as part of the “On Call” process
