Job Title: Avionics Technician
Job Description
The Avionics Technician installs, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs avionics systems and components in accordance with FCC, FAA, and internal policies and regulations. This role works hands-on with avionics electrical systems, wiring, and test equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation of aircraft systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform avionics maintenance in strict accordance with FCC, FAA, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics components and systems on aircraft and related platforms.
- Interpret and apply technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications to perform accurate installations and repairs.
- Route wires and harnesses according to technical drawings and specifications, ensuring proper labeling, bundling, and protection.
- Perform avionics installation tasks, including wiring, wiring repair, and wiring installation using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Use soldering and crimping techniques to assemble, repair, and terminate wiring and connectors to required standards.
- Operate and maintain avionics system testing software and test equipment, including spectrometers, oscilloscopes, and pitot-static equipment, as applicable.
- Maintain test equipment, tools, and manuals in good working order, ensuring calibration, cleanliness, and readiness for use.
- Troubleshoot avionics electrical systems and components to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
- Perform component-level repair and replacement, including harness and connector work, to restore full system functionality.
- Work safely with and around explosives, dangerous or hazardous materials, and aviation-related systems in a safety-sensitive environment.
- Inspect structures, equipment, vehicles, and aviation systems to verify proper operation and compliance with standards.
- Operate or supervise the operation of vehicles, heavy, or potentially dangerous equipment or machinery as required for avionics tasks.
- Follow all safety procedures when working in environments with loud noise, fumes, hazardous materials, and outdoor elements.
- Document work performed, including maintenance actions, inspections, repairs, and test results, in accordance with applicable requirements.

Work Environment
This role operates in a safety-sensitive aerospace and defense setting that involves frequent hands-on work with aircraft, avionics systems, and related equipment. You will regularly work in hangars, shops, and outdoor areas, with frequent exposure to outdoor elements such as high and low temperatures, sun, rain, and snow. The position involves frequent exposure to loud noises, fumes, and hazardous chemicals or materials, and requires strict adherence to safety procedures and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Work includes inspecting, handling, or transporting explosives and other dangerous or hazardous materials, as well as inspecting structures, equipment, vehicles, and aviation systems. The role may require operating or supervising vehicles, heavy equipment, or potentially dangerous machinery. The position is physically active, requiring the ability to climb stairs and steps, frequently use hands and fingers for detailed work, meet vision and hearing requirements, and occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds. Dress and personal protective equipment must comply with safety and facility standards appropriate for an aviation and defense maintenance environment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $40.00/hr.
